I was skeptical at first until I watched the gameplay video. If you've never played a mouse aim controlled 2D platformer before then I suggest you try Abuse. It's from the 90s and the days of shareware. It reminds me of a 2D Doom with enemies swarming in from everywhere and creepy sound effects to keep the environment full of tension.
Anyway, what looks hot about Blood Alloy is all of those mobility options like the slide, jet pack, cartwheel dodge, shield, etc. They aren't asking for too much money either so we can at least see the game funded.
Also it totally looks rough around the edges. The backgrounds certainly lack depth and the movements of everything seem a bit floaty. But it's early footage and comments might go a long way here.
