The Banana Bogey Brawler: Birdie Thread

From SRK's article.
http://shoryuken.com/2015/06/15/going-hands-on-with-street-fighter-v-cammy-and-birdie-conduct-their-very-own-british-invasion/
Birdie
sfv-birdie-reveal-tallBirdie’s had an interesting series of transformations over the history of the Street Fighter franchise, going from a white, generic British punk-thug in the first game to a hulking black bouncer with a bizarre ‘do in the Alpha series, and now to a chubby, food-scarfing, tattooed bruiser in Street Fighter V.
I’m not sure if Birdie was particularly high on many folks’ returning-character wishlists, but now that he’s actually in the game, I’m really glad he’s there. Birdie serves a very interesting niche that’s different from his role in the Street Fighter Alpha series: a slow, power-heavy character that hits hard and comes equipped with long-range grabs using his chains. I didn’t think he’d be a character I’d enjoy playing–I gravitate towards “glass cannon” types, personally–but out of everyone in Street Fighter V so far, Birdie was far and away the most fun to play with.
Current Movelist
V-Skill: Break Time (MP+MK, variants with stick motions)
Remember Ono’s banana picture? Yep, that’s actually one of Birdie’s V-Skills. Birdie stops to scarf a snack, but this is no mere taunt: the residue he throws can affect opponents. Neutral MP+MK produces a delicious donut that fills V-meter, while using back MP+MK has Birdie chomp down on a banana. The banana peel remains on the ground and can be slipped on by the opponent, causing knockdown (there’s a Diddy Kong joke to be had here, I’m sure). And finally, pressing down with MP+MK lets Birdie slam a Dew*, and his hastily discarded soda can rolls across the floor and hits low.
*No, it’s not actually Mountain Dew, but we can’t totally rule out future eSports sponsorships.
V-Trigger: Enjoy Time (HP+HK)
Now this is Hot Pepper Gaming! Activating Birdie’s V-Trigger sees the brute eat a pepper, providing him with a gauge that makes his skills super spicy. We’re talking extra damage and guard breaks on specials.
V-Reversal: Pepper Pot (During guard, towards+PPP)
Special Moves
Bull Head (HCF+P)
A signature Birdie skill returns from the Alpha series, only now it’s a half-circle rather than a charge. Birdie rushes a length of the stage with a devastating headbutt.
Bull Horn (Hold any P and release)
A slightly less involved input from the original Bull Horn, this can also can be held for a surprisingly long time–even taking a few hits couldn’t stop the charge, from what I recall. Sadly, I didn’t get the opportunity to test and see if it has the same chain abilities.
Hanging Chain (QCF+K)
Birdie launches a chain forward to grab his opponent and smash them around in a nasty, long-distance catch move. The strength of the kick pressed determines the launch angle.
Killing Head (HCB+P)
What’s this? A painful close-range throw that’s not a 360? Yep, I already mentioned before how 360s aren’t in the game, and here’s a prime example. It’s a bit surprising, given that Birdie existed in the original Alpha as the token 360 throw character (until they introduced the token 360 throw character in Alpha 2). Between this and Cammy’s Hooligan Combination, you can see how Capcom’s adjusting the controls for accessibility.
Bull Revenger (HCB+K)
What’s scarier than Birdie lunging at you? A leaping Birdie lunge where he can catch you and inflict a world of hurt, that’s what. It might not be a Super any more, but that doesn’t mean this ground-slamming special is any less painful.
Critical Art
One of the most entertaining–and devastating–Critical Arts shown so far, this attack has Birdie rolling his foe up in his chains and engaging in an impromptu jump-rope session, with his bound-up opponent suffering some seriously damaging skid burns as a result.
“And the very best thing of all, there’s no counter on this ball!” Okay, I’ll stop now.

Case-
Hori Case (New form factor upgrade from RAPV3/RAPVX/RAPV4 style where buttons are now on the side instead of on top/face)
=One main plastic base. Does not have individual plastic pieces.
=Sizes RAP.V - Width = 430mm, Depth = 237mm, Height (including lever) = 114mm

Buttons-
=Hori Kuro buttons
=Signal/Ground wires are soldered on to buttons
=RAP.V Silent uses foam pads inside the normal Hori Kuro buttons
PCB-
=Common ground PCB. May exist some type of dual mod issues where signals are held high/low if variable. Need to discuss with modders more.
=Multiple PCBs (main PCB, side PCB, touch screen)
=Touch screen PCB is connected to main PCB using a small ribbon cable
=Side PCB is connected to main PCB using two standard molex style connectors
=Joystick is connected to main PCB using a standard molex style connector
=Buttons are connected to main PCB by solder and glue
=USB cable is connected to main PCB by using a standard molex style connector
Wiring-
=Typical
USB Cable-

=Cable length (3m)
Unanswered Questions Due to Insufficient Testing-
-Is the PCB the same for both models of this body type?
-Is the PCB possible to multi-mod with? We know it's common ground, but we don't have if is active high/low.

Guide newbie thread on how to customize/mod-
http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/202199/newbie-guide-venom-ps4-full-sanwa-mod-with-octo-for-116-uk-pricing
Case-
Existing retail photos look like same build to the Mayflash V2 arcade stick for PS3/360/PC
=Width = 320mm, Depth = 260mm, Height = 120mm
=Weight (2.1kg)
=Has cord compartment
Metal Panels-
+Both top and bottom metal panels
+Top metal panel has grooves for button tabs for easy install/remove
Plexi/Art-
+Has default plexi for custom artwork insertion
+Stock artwork isn't glued or attached to default stock plexi
=Same artwork template as Mayflash v2 - https://mega.co.nz/#!iUUQ0IYY!mYbNwtx3nUbrFTjXnUYf067g4lVwB-hDRMdfJzwppbA
Bottom Padding/Feet-
=Has a foam padding on corners
=Does not have feet
Joystick-
=Default Non-branded joystick of average quality with individual microswitches (Microswitch brand unknown)
=Default joystick compatible with Sanwa gates
Buttons-
-Stock Sanwa knockoff buttons of bad quality
=Microswitches use a Seimitsu PS14-G clone switch. It has a very similar feel, the same QD placement, and the same thin microswitch plunger as Seimitsu.
+Easy to replace stock buttons with any standard 30mm button
PCB-
=Common ground PCB
=Has 3 PCBs. One main, one for Start/Select/Turbo/etc, and one for LEDs
Wiring-
=Quick disconnects for action buttons
-Soldered on microswitches for joystick
-Stock joystick wiring to PCB is to 4 individual 2pin connectors and PCB has empty 5pin connector for joystick. This means replacing joystick requires splice of existing wires to 2pin connectors or usage of 5pin connector.
USB Cable-
=Cable Length (3m)
=Utilizes 5pin connector to PCB
Things I need to edit on this post include
-Shitloads of pictures of each joystick from stock to interior to PCB etc
-More Information! FEED ME INFO! NEED MORE EXP POINTS FOR KNOWLEDGE LEVEL UP!

The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game talk
So I recently got a gaming pc and im loving steam lately. Ive been playing a lot of Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands. Ive only had my pc for about 3 months but due to the awsomeness that is Steam I have picked up about 20 or 25 games since then. The only problem I have is I dont have any motherfuckin' friends to play that shit with. It gets lonely by yourself.
So if you play shit on Steam post in here, talk about games you're playing, rant about games you're playing, post them deals and just make some friends for that shit. Good times!
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/19/super-street-fighter-4-arcade-edition-coming-to-steam/
Steam deal right now is Worms Reloaded for 9.99. Im not into that so its not something im interested in but someone else might be.
Edit - Oh yeah, my Steam I.D. is...you guessed it, Drizzt519.
p.s. if there is a thread like this im sorry. I did a search and looked through like 5 pages but didnt find nothing but the TF2 thread. And most of them motherfuckers that post in that thread aint ever playing that shit.

The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!
Been thinking about doing this for some time now.
Since people were using the old TE/SE art thread for stuff other than MadCatz sticks and the threads for the other sticks were just about ignored. Here's a new thread to cover art for all sticks (MadCatz, Hori, Namco, Sega, custom, etc.)
If possible, please upload your pics to the SRK Sticks Imageboard (http://srksticks.booru.org/) Instructions will be listed below.
Rules
-NO IMAGE QUOTING. Copy the image's URL and paste it. The forum should automatically recognize it as a link when you click on "Post." Failure to do so will result in an infraction.
-Please do not post full 300dpi images on the forums. This slows down the thread for everyone. Anyone who does so will receive an infraction. Resize your images to around 1024 pixels in width.

The HEROES thread
Well, the show just premiered, here are my thoughts
SPOILERS..........
--seems kinda interesting, setting up the personal stories of the characters, but they should have shown more visually appealing scenes, ,besides claire's invulnerability/healing ,and the final scene
-MY fav chars right away are: Claire(cheerleader ), ,hiro (dorky yet lovable jpnese guy). That nurse guy seems to withsdrawn for me. Slutty single moms power/story has potential.
-Yay an Indian guy!! unfortunately he becomes a taxi driver after 30 mins. Interesting revelation about claire's dad being the guy after suresh...
overall i'd give it 3.5/5.

Bleach Thread 5.0 - Chair is OP, pls nerf~
Bleach Thread v4.0 only had half the posts the 3.0 thread had, but since we're going to enter the new and "last" arc of Bleach, I figured it warranted a new thread and say good bye to 4.0. I believe when I was still a lurker to this site, 4.0 was made right around when Aizen just started to fight the captains and Vizards after his Espada pawns were defeated during the Fake Karakura Town arc. Had some good times reading and discussing Aizen/Kubo's trolling, Tsukishima's shenanigans, Ginjo's mindgames, upgraded Fullbringers jobbing, chapters with giant ass panels with as little dialogue in them as possible, and of course, Ichigo haxing it the fuck up.
And as some of you know, Kubo announced a 3 week break between the last chapter of The Lost Substitute Shinigami arc and the up coming chapter that'll be around this next Wednesday/Thursday but he provided some nice details leading up to it. Check out the scanlations for more details.
Credit goes to Estella May, czeliate, and BadExample from Bleach Asylum.
WEEK 1
WEEK 2
WEEK 3
Anyway, hope this new and last arc will provide this thread many more good times like the last one did...... since we're going to be here for 10 more years. :x

Hey, where do you guys download your anime?
Tokyotosho is a good place to start with. It has a really simple search engine and covers almost all of the torrent releases when it comes to both anime and manga, be it subtitled or without.
You may want to get a Bittorrent client such as Utorrent to download any of the files there.
I got no time to download! I wanna watch my anime NOW!
No problem, sir. You've got streaming sites such as Goodanime.net or Anilinkz.com that could help you out on that.
How about manga?
You've got separate sites for this too. You can try any of the following:
Mangastream
OneManga
Mangastream.to Reccomended
Mangafox
Haven Reader
Batoto Reccomended
to satisfy your urge for reading manga.
You've told me where to get the anime and manga, but what shows should I watch or read?!
This all depends on the genre you're interested in. Obviously, a lot of shows tend to combine a number of them, but in general, these shows are usually enjoyed by the anime populace, so do give them a try.
This list will probably not cover everything, but mostly the major (and some minor ones). If there's anything major missing, do tell.
Many of these shows and manga are already licensed outside of Japan, so if you want to support them, buy their DVDs or books from you local or online retailer whenever you have the chance!
Some series may have a few other genres it can be defined into; and for these, you'll find 'em in brackets close to the title.

Paradise Arcade Shop, LED Joysticks, Buttons, Mods and more

We have been floating around for a little while posting and received a recommendation to start a thread. Paradise Arcade Shop is based in Hawaii, working to bring a variety of controls to the arcade and fight stick market. We carry a number of different options for price points in both sticks and buttons, but we only sell products that we would use. That means, there is a difference between a Porsche and a Toyota, we see a place for both of those in the market, and we won't sell Toyota's at Porsche prices.
I say "we" as Ponyboy likes to harass me about, because the company is my wife and I. For those of you who have ordered already(thank you) she packs the orders and answers about 90% of the emails (mostly logisitics, but she is answering the "How to I light an LED" questions now) This is also her full time job and my part time job. She works hard to send out all stock items in 1-2 days, and rides my ass about the cutsom builds so they stay close to 1-3 days(We build LED sticks to order, and some of our game systems)
I have been an active membe of KLOV, Coinopspace, and BYOAC for sometime, and we sell on EBAY and Amazon. I will probably edit the intro down in the future, but I wanted just let people know who "we" are and who I am. Thank you for all the support and orders we already have received and now...it's time for the good stuff!
Mortal Kombat 9 Stick mod products!!!!! If you want new controls with the same forms to just upgrade your stick try some of these IL products and microswitch upgrades.
Translucent Concave IL buttons - A great upgrade to your stick, especially with...
IL-lumination LED pads - Available in RGB or single color

IL Eurosticks provide "Happ Competition" Style with an upgrade in quality
And, for amazing light touch, upgrade any Happ or IL button to our 20 gram micros (Please note that these are 20 gram max spec and really are closer to 15 grams of actuation force)
We also carry JLF's, JLW's, LS-32, LS-32-01, LS-40, PS-14-KN pushbuttons, re-released PS-14-K Skeleton buttons, Paradise LED sticks, custom ball tops and a variety of hollow shafts(we also have 10 new custom hollow shafts on order, need a long JLF shaft or want to put a ball top on a Eurostick joystick?)
Finally... we have two new ball tops in, Pearls and Emerald Green that will be available shortly and were built to match the Rollie Buttons.
And the answer is "Yes, the pearl will light up."

PC Beta Specs Thread - Post your specs, settings, and performance results here
In an attempt to help us all figure out how close/far we are from reaching 60FPS nirvana before release, I'd like to get an idea of what's required to make the game barely playable, required to make it totally playable, and required to make it beastly.
Post your specs here and how well your computer ran the beta. ***KEEP YOUR SPECS GENERALIZED*** Limit it to CPU, Motherboard, RAM, and Graphics Card.
Capcom's minimum and recommended specs: http://www.capcom-unity.com/haunts/blog/2015/09/22/street-fighter-v-pc-spec-recommendations
EDIT: a great reddit thread here with a compilation of systems and performances https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetFighter/comments/3pxcjk/for_pc_beta_sf_v_users_what_is_your_pc_specs_and/
I have two rigs I tried the beta on. The first is my gaming rig
CPU: Intel i5-3570K
Motherboard: Intel Z77 Chipset with PCIe 3.0
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Performance: I ran this game flawlessly on max settings in-game. I even flexed and bumped up all the settings in the Nvidia control panel. I couldn't even make the game stutter.
Then there was my ancient gaming rig which I now use as a media center.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 8400 Wolfdale
Motherboard: P5N-D Nvidia 750 Chipset PCIe 2.0
RAM: 4GB DDR2 1066
Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650
Performance: With rock bottom settings, I can achieve 60 FPS in the training room--until I hit a button. It's unplayable. I even threw in my other graphics card (limited to running in PCIe 2.0) and barely saw a performance bump.
Somebody in the reddit thread noticed they ran slower on lowest settings than higher ones. This gave me the idea to use the auto settings and, lo and behold, the game became playable. Not like, let's go online and play playable, but not a slideshow at all any more.
Conclusion: It's the Unreal engine. You don't need the specs Capcom is recommending. My processor and graphics card are below recommended (hundreds of dollars below) but I couldn't even make it slow down. I can't speak to Capcom's recommended RAM but I wouldn't be surprised if 8GB is inflated as well. I'm interested to see if any of you ran this game fine with some i3 processors, <8 GB RAM, or with weaker graphics cards. With Black Friday deals coming up this might be good for everybody to know.

Transformers Thread
I've been reading through some TF books (like Prime Targets) now having finished the final season of beast wars a while ago. I feel that I have watched everything enough times now (gen1 and bw twice through on dvd alone) to reflect on all that is glorious with the series.
So here's my Top Ten pre- tf: the movie stories:
(air-date order, not preference)
10. Enter the Nightbird - one of my favorites when it first aired. Ninja robot = beast. A nice stand-alone story
9. Changing Gears - gears had a shitty character design but his personality was great and I always laugh during this episode
8. A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court - I love the cheesy 80s fantasy stuff - merlin, the owl, etc.
7. The God Gambit - mature storyline for TF and a good one. very memorable.
6. Make Tracks - tracks was my favorite autobot so his two stories rate up there for me. Raoul > Chip
5. Auto Bop - the other tracks episode, this time complete with great cheesy 80s breakdancing and Blaster vs Soundwave!
4. Prime Target - enjoyable riff on "The Most Dangerous Game
3. Starscream's Brigade - My favorite episode of all when it originally aired. Bruticus was tight as hell and the attitude of the Stunticons was great.
2. Trans-Europe Express - You wonder why they didnt think of this story (autbots in a cross-country race) earlier
1. Hoist Goes to Hollywood - was never a big Hoist fan but Tracks does some good stuff in this episode and it is very funny. Its also in Hollywood, nuff said.
Top 5 post-tf: the movie stories:
5. Webworld - another favorite when it first aired. Galvatron as really, really crazy
4. Ghost in the Machine - starscream trying to put Unicron back together was mind-boggling when I was a kid and brought back all of the horrible memories from the movie
3. Only Human - COBRAAAAAAAA!
2. Grimlock's New Brian - I always liked COmputron and the Flowers for Algernon-esque ending put a little
in my eye...
1. The Return of Optimus Prime - ya damn right.
Top Ten Beast Wars Stories:
10. Beast Wars - sets up the show masterfully, introduces Dinobot and his complexities
9. Power Surge - always liked this one, Terrorsaur shines
8. Gorilla Warfare - I would have gone nuts for this one when I was a kid. Balls-out action
7. The Trigger - Floating island stuff was great, made you want to play it as a video game or something
6. Possession - one of several G1-heavy episodes.
5. Before the Storm/Other Voices - setting up the grand plot that was BW, the season finale really amps things up and gives us a great cliffhanger.
4. Coming of the Fuzors - I loved the Sergio Leone touches throughout both of these episodes. Lots of good violence too
3. Code of Hero - my only complaint is that I would have liked this to happen in the midst (or end) of a 2 or 3 parter but still the greatest.
2. The Agenda - Even better than the first season's finale, this is perhaps the single best storyline in Beast Wars or G1 Transformers. Megatron's speech at the end as he is about to blast Optimus still gives me chills.
1. Nemesis Part 2 - season 3 finale threw in everything and the kitchen sink. Although it wrapped up way too quick, it was still very rewarding, especially Waspinator's fate.
So yeah, use this thread to talk about whatever.
