Anything Star Wars related...

I know some of you may say Lucas should not make episodes VII, VIII, and IX, and some of you may say Lucas should make episodes VII, VIII, and IX. I believe Lucas would be foolish not to cash in on a sequel trilogy, especially after Fate of the Jedi.

If you haven't read all the books from Fate of the Jedi then you don't know what you're missing. Lucas has to approve and has a hand in all of the Star Wars books before being published. So here's what I'm thinking:

Star Wars Episode VII: Outcast (movie will be based on books 1-3)

Star Wars Episode VIII: Allies (movie will be based on books 4-6)

Star Wars Episode IX: Apocalypse (movie will be based on 7-9)

Why is it that some people are inevitably better than others?

I understand that there might be a genetic reaction time variance and things along these lines, but why are people like Tokido and Infiltration always on top?

What exactly do they understand that the rest of the plebs don't?

I always see posts about how the way to improve is to watch matches and improve weak areas, etc. But, this doesn't explain any real fundamental foundational theory of the game.

It's almost like being "self-taught" in other fields, and yes you'll get good at certain areas but you will also likely have gaping holes in your knowledge base, and your skill amounts to a bunch of techniques as opposed to a real knowledge of what is going on and what you are supposed to be doing.

Is there a universal approach to the game? Or is it literally a completely different strategy for each character and beyond that player tendencies? Is this whole game simply a matter of learning ALL the characters, and trying to keep ahead of your opponent with trickery, rather than straight-up sound direct theoretical approach? So yeah, is there a universal approach? Or does this game require you to learn every character and player tendency? Or is this a dishonest game of trickery?

Perhaps it will have co op like Zombie Army Trilogy, that would be incredible. Tamsoft does have online experience with Senran Kagura Estival Versus handling 10 players plus hordes at 60 fps, and their co op experience with Neptune vs Zombie Army, its possible for SGZH to support 5 players online coop, especially if they want to optimize sales.

I really like the character designs, for an anime art direction, the characters look cool and "realistic" without being supermodels like the Onechanbara characters. Of course there are critics that label them as "generic", but that completely misses the artistic expression that protagonists don't have to look like superstars to look good and matter in the plot.
some people say the faces are the same, I say they are crazy and should get an eye exam. That's like saying DOA faces are all the same. They have their obvious differences in complexion and overall appearance.

We have yet to see how it controls, but it might play like a TPS, or hybrid. Also one of the gameplay screens shows 2 of the girls together, and I dont think it has a cross merge combination summon mechanic like Z2 Chaos, it could actually have legit online co op. plus the girls are promoted as a team of 5, plus the emphasis on guns, this might be an unrelated spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead series and Rebellion's Zombie Army Trilogy (and underrated masterpiece, theres no other zombie shooter game as fun as ZAT) if they play their cards right.

D3 and Tamsoft really have a new masterpiece in their hands, even labeled as an Onechanbara spinoff, its possible for SchoolGirl Zombie Hunter to go mainstream (or a little higher in the popularity ladder), especially if its gunplay entices the western masses and it has online group co op to get more to jump in.

and before anyone nitpicks the graphics. the game could be aiming for 60 frames per second, destructible costumes, and lots of blood and gore, plus large enemy populations (and possibly group co op on top of all that), and perhaps customization, so of course something's gotta give to deliver the full spectrum of gameplay features they wanna include. plus as we have seen from games like Zombie Army Trilogy, the most fun games don't need the greatest graphics to look and play good. :)

now it's a matter if XSEED is gonna localize it. well we'll see gameplay at TGS 2016, so there's more to learn.

My brother and I are playing in the same room trying to find others to play with. He's on a laptop while I'm on a desktop. He's a silver and I'm a gold. The odd thing is, he keeps finding gold players and I keep finding silver. What's the deal with that? I go on long streaks while earning little point with this matchmaking. Has anyone seen this pattern to which silver players will find golds and gold player will find silver? I went 10+ games straight finding only silvers on ranked. My assumption is that matchmaking is broken.

Kara Raging Demon (if you discover shortcuts post them here)

Hey guys,
How is everyone cancelling overhead into raging demon?
What are the exact inputs necessary to perform a kara demon (cancelling demon from a normal attack)?

I'm trying to do it like SF4 where I could double tap F+LP+MP twice into LK+HP, but it doesn't seem to be working.
For some reason it seems like I have to end with the stick in the up+forward direction and then it seems to work.

Also I've noticed you do the old SF4 raging demon anti-air by cancelling cr.MK (to low profile a jump-in attack) into Raging Demon.


EDIT: Thanks Kuwabara. It looks like I was letting my stick come to neutral without realizing it.

If anyone else learns of any shortcuts for buffering demon please share them here :sunglasses:

Having made her first and only appearance (until now) in Street Fighter Alpha 3, R. Mika has long been a fan-favorite and we’re super stoked to bring her back after a long absence from the series. As a flamboyant young wrestler, Mika dreamed of one day becoming a star in the ring, much like her idol Zangief. Training under the strict tutelage of her coach, she traveled the world engaging in random matches with street fighters in order to spread her name and popularity.

R. Mika’s wrestling prowess will be on full display in Street Fighter V, as she dazzles opponents with a large variety of high-flying moves. This time around, her wrestling tag-team partner Nadeshiko also assists in the fight!

By calling Nadeshiko at the right time using R. Mika’s V-Trigger ability, you’ll be able to setup sneaky attacks and punishing command grab mix-ups that are sure to knock the stuffing out of your opponent. Players who enjoy close-combat guessing games and striking fear into the hearts of opponents will find R. Mika an absolute delight to play.

R. Mika pulls out her trusty microphone and gives a heart-pumping monologue to the crowd. The longer the buttons are held down, the more powerful her normal and special throws become! During her monologue state, she is able to absorb one hit from the opponent and can also cancel the speech at any time by letting go of the buttons, causing her to fling the mic at the opponent.

V-Trigger: Nadeshiko (3 Variations)

Now this is wrestling! Depending on the direction held during the V-Trigger activation, R. Mika’s faithful tag-team partner will deliver a surprising, high flying attack at the opponent from different angles: neutral (body splash from above), hold back (dropkick from the front), hold forward (dropkick from behind). The different variations keep opponents guessing and afraid to hit buttons, perfectly setting up R. Mika’s damaging command throws.

Fans lucky enough to be attending PAX Prime this weekend in Seattle will have a chance to try out R. Mika at the Capcom booth, so be sure to swing by to see how she plays!

The MollyWhop is returning on 1-11-17!


The now bi-weekly tournament was a longtime staple in the upper New York Smash community but has been on hiatus for more than six months. The original Smash 914 team is back at the same awesome venue and we're looking to pick up right where we left off.

The venue fee will remain at $5 for tournament players, and spectators are free! We'll also be adding Street Fighter V and some other fighters to the mix, so come get a piece of the action!

Though the venue is a pub, people under 21 are still welcome to come. Wristbands will be given out if necessary and we ask that you respect both the bartender and the law. Even if you can't drink, Molly's has a full food menu too, so try and support the venue so we can keep these events going.

The MollyWhop is held in a separate event room on the second floor of Molly Spillane's. The venue is just a few blocks away from the Mamaroneck Metro North station. For those coming from the NYC, a one-way train ticket costs $3.75 from Fordham Station and $8.75 from Grand Central Terminal.

**Parking**
There is plenty of parking around the venue, however the spaces on the street in front of the building are metered until 8 p.m. We recommend parking in the lot behind the building, which should be free after 6 p.m.

**Prizes**
Cash prizes for First, Second, Third Place (60/30/10% split)

Tournaments with 64 or more players will payout Top 8
+ 1st Place – 50%
+ 2nd Place – 20%
+ 3rd Place – 13%
+ 4th Place – 7%
+ 5th Place (tie) – 3%

**Tournament rules**
+ Double Elimination Bracket (Lose twice and you're out)
+ Best 2 out of 3 games per match for all matches except Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals
+ Best 3 out of 5 games for Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals

**Smash for Wii U Rules**

+ Pausing during a match will result in a forfeit of the current stock
+ If match ends in Time Out, the person with the most stocks/lowest percent wins. Sudden Death must NOT be played.
+ If match ends in the form of a suicide kill (Kirby/Dedede Swallowcide, Ganondorf aerial side-B) The person who initiated the killing move is the winner.

First stage is decided by stage striking starting with player one. Player one strikes the first stage, then loser strikes twice, and player one will strike the final stage. (1-2-2-1)

The winner of the each game will ban one stage from the full list and the loser will be allowed to choose their counterpick stage prior to selecting their character.

There are no bans in Winner, Losers and Grand finals since it is best of 5.

**Street Fighter V Rules**

+ 99 seconds
+ Best 2 out of 3 rounds per game
+ Winner must keep the same character
+ Loser can switch characters
+ Pausing during a match will result in a forfeit

Banned stages: Kanzuki Beach
No macro-capable devices
