Motion mapping with macros software

$

Has anyone tried controller macros?
I'm having some trouble with 360 motions and I'd like to map the motion on a single button. Do you know of any software that would allow me to do so? I'm using DS4Windows and it has a macro recording option but the recorded motion just doesn't work correctly in the game. It's A LOT slower than what I recorded.

Has anyone had success with any software?

My response to : Should Coaching Be Banned in the FGC?

Be it during a match or in between sets, coaching *is* cheating because a 2df game in its essence is a *mind game*, and will never be a physical challenge[1].
You definitely have things like execution and muscle memory as physical obstacles to overcome, but that's for novice players only. You should already be past those issues to even consider yourself a mediocre/casual player. So What's left is purely a technical, psychological battle in which *mind games* decide the outcome.

Patience, guessing, reading, conditioning, baiting, concealing, holding on your ace, adapting, memory, reflexes[2], taking risks, awareness, resources monitoring, stress management, framedata/hitboxes/bugs knowledge, knowing your character, knowing your opponent's character, playing ignorance, playing the victim, playing low, keeping background tabs on your opponents, studying tapes of yourself, approaching with the right mindset, maintaining that mindset, getting over bad habits, thick skin, luck, modesty, grace, faith...etc, none of that stuff is physical now is it?

I see that it's clear as day that two people combining their minds' power against one person is unfair in many levels. That same person is now feeling an additional pressure when they realize that they have to beat two and a half persons[3].

And then there is the question, who is coaching the coach?

[1] Of course unless you have an illness or a disability preventing you from playing normally.
[2] One could argue that this is physical and can be trained as, say, execution. But since it happens mostly in the mind and is extremely hard to obtain when your mind is weak, I'll keep it in the psychological list.
[3] Because the coach has far less strain on him that he can evaluate stuff better than an engaged person.

Hit Box - We so S Tier1!!

Welcome to the Hit Box community!

http://www.youtube.com/hitboxes

FAQ
1. What is the Hit Box?

The Hit Box all-button controller, AKA the "Stickless Stick," is a game controller specifically designed for fighting games. We replaced the joystick with directional buttons that are controlled by your fingers.

2. Why buttons?

By using 4 directional buttons controlled by 4 fingers, you gain:

- Increased input speed
- Consistent inputs yield fewer mistakes
- Exclusive control over your movement
- No travel time inputting directions
- Button techniques apply to movement and special inputs (plinking, piano, double tap, slide)
- Game-specific features such as SSFIV input shortcuts (such as walking dragon punches)
- No unintentional inputs such as accidental jumps
- No arm/wrist motion
- Stays put in your lap

3. Are those smaller buttons than normal?

Yes. We use 24mm Sanwa pushbuttons with exception to the 'Up' button, which is 30mm. They are highly sensitive buttons and work perfectly. 24 mm buttons are able to be brought closer together and fit the natural curve of the human hand. When the button spread is closer together, players find all buttons directly at their finger tips with no hand-hovering.

4. Can I still execute throws and focus attacks on this smaller layout?

Yes.

5. What about plinking and double tapping my combo links?

Of course.

6. Why have a shared jump button for your thumbs?

It is larger than the other buttons so both thumbs can access "Up" depending on player preference. By utilizing this, you can perform advanced "joystick" motions easily. Tri-jumps and Tiger Knee inputs are much faster and more accurate. It also makes many Just-Frame inputs incredibly easy.

8. Who is this for? Do I need keyboard experience?

While it appears to share the most common ground with a keyboard, Hit Box is a balance between Joystick, Pad, and Keyboard together. You dont need background in any controller to appreciate the Hit Box: Anyone can use it!

9. Can I still do everything I can do on my joystick?

Everything and more.

10. What about Hadokens and Dragon Punches and SPDs?

Yes. Quickly and accurately.

11. What about "______'s ________ combo"?

Yes.

12. Is there a learning curve?

The learning curve is creating fast, new memory in your fingers. It doesn't take long. This also gets rid of old bad habits too!

13. Are these for advanced players only?

No! The benefits of these boxes can be appreciated by everyone from the beginning player to the most advanced tournament player. The whole purpose of the Hit Box is to aide your fundamentals and build your foundation so that you can focus on what actually matters in a match: your opponent.

14. What happens when you hold the Left and Right buttons together?

Left + Right = Neutral. Your character will stand still. No charging or blocking occurs.

15. Can I hold Left and Right to block cross ups?

No. Left + Right = Neutral; you will get hit in the face.

18. Can I walk forward and charge a sonic boom?

No.

19. Can I hold Back and perform shoryuken motions?

No. Left + Right = Neutral.

20. Is "Left + Right = Neutral" useless?

No! Left + Right is the basis for many advanced techniques that will make your life easier! You get access to 3-frame dashes, 1-button FADCs, rapid dragon punches, new option selects, safe and easy Korean backdash cancelling, and much more! Left + Right will help your execution significantly. Check out all of the tech in our video section!

New comic books generally ship on Wednesdays every week, unless there's some sort of a major holiday that week which may push everything back to Thursday.

To find out what comics are shipping this week and next, check here:
http://www.comiclist.com
http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping.asp

Those schedules are tentative, meaning that some stuff might get delayed or pushed ahead at the last minute. Generally they provide good estimates though.

The best thing to do to make sure you don't miss an issue is just to call up or visit your comic book store on Wednesdays and see what they got in. Most comic book stores now run "subscription services" where you just give them some basic contact info and tell them which books you want, and they'll put those aside for you every month. It's a reliable way of reserving your picks so you don't have to worry about stuff selling out before you get to the store. Also, if the store owner knows you want the comic, he will order it for sure. You don't have to worry about the store dropping your favorite title just to save some shelf space for whatever crazy crossover extravaganza Marvel or DC are holding that month.

The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

Been thinking about doing this for some time now.

Since people were using the old TE/SE art thread for stuff other than MadCatz sticks and the threads for the other sticks were just about ignored. Here's a new thread to cover art for all sticks (MadCatz, Hori, Namco, Sega, custom, etc.)

If possible, please upload your pics to the SRK Sticks Imageboard (http://srksticks.booru.org/) Instructions will be listed below.

Rules
-NO IMAGE QUOTING. Copy the image's URL and paste it. The forum should automatically recognize it as a link when you click on "Post." Failure to do so will result in an infraction.

-Please do not post full 300dpi images on the forums. This slows down the thread for everyone. Anyone who does so will receive an infraction. Resize your images to around 1024 pixels in width.

So guys I want to bring to light a serious thing and I was gonna remake this thread at one point and this would be put in the front if I had.

Counterfeit cards are real and now so close to real cards you need to go to extreme measure. This is more for Modern and Legacy and Vintage but still be careful.

I just bought a Bayou and got it today and it seemed off, I wont be able to make sure its fake till tomorrow but I also got a badlands a while back and it also might be fake and this was from a accredited seller. Wasn't till I did some research to realize that there is a Chinese seller putting these counterfeits out there.

So you go to buy ANY card over $20 make sure you get proof its real if you have ANY reason to doubt it. Fakes are not a concern until they are. Get your knowledge up and if you have a local scene share with them this info. Many ways to check for fakes knowledge and now they seem to be too high a saturation in the pool. I know I personally will not buy anymore real cards unless by a real company or I get for sure they are legit. These "proxy" cards are so close to a real thing a person just getting into legacy etc may not realize what they are getting.

Sailor Moon S - Arcana Heart? We know thee not. The All-Girls Fighter of kings.

Anyone else play this game? Just picked it up about a month or two ago for SNES9x, played some casuals with friends. Fun game, save for Uranus, pretty balanced.

Anyone ever seen a tier list? I've yet to find one.

Obligatory vids:

Shoryuken - [Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S match] Japanese casuals 12

Shoryuken - [ Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S ] All Character Combo Exhibition (NEW VERSION)

Found a SFC cart of this game on ebay for like $10 including shipping, thinking about grabbing it. Still need an SNES though.
Hella boring day, so I thought I'd do this.

Keep in mind, I don't consider myself THE authority on this game, there may be things I'm overlooking. This is largely what I've seen/experienced. I may be judging some chars too harshly, others too favorably. I think this is fairly accurate though.

Lastly, everyone aside from Pluto/Chibi is viable, and even those two have *something* going for them (even if it results from bad situations).

That said...

Jupiter
+ lariat, guard cancel 360 make it nigh impossible to jump in on her. guard cancel 360 will also destroy badly spaced normals
+ strong keepaway w/ thunder dragon and coconut cyclone
+ high damage off lariat combos w/ resets into 360
+ strong oki

- slow normals/walkspeed (this is negligible, you wont be playing footsies too much)
- super isnt very good (damaging, but slow startup/recovery, no invul... honestly you can just forget this exists)

Mars
+ 2 of the best, if not THE best projectiles in the game. fire snake (ground fb) is fast, recovers quick, knocks down. burning mandala (aa fb) travels at an angle that can be difficult to jump over. this pretty much makes her the #1 zoner imo.
+ good walkspeed, fast normals
+ damaging bnb
+ can easily corner trap people w/ fire snake
+ super does good damage even on block, can confuse people (looks like fire snake, but starts travelling upward)

- gc is kinda meh

Neptune
+ jab dp is hilariously hard to stop/punish. just do it.
+ good, safe oki
+ decent fb, not as good as mars though
+ good range on normals, decently fast

- has problems w/ the above two chars (gets fb trapped very easily vs mars, has a little trouble getting around jupiter's fbs)

Mercury:
+ fastest character, has one of the better footsie games
+ pretty good dp, though neptune's is better
+ has two fbs that function similarly to mars (again, not quite as good)
+ has a wall jump

- super is kind of awkward to use

Moon:
+ far jump combined w/ dash canceled air fb gives her a pretty decent left/right game... probably her best aspect.

- short range on normals
- only really gets decent damage in the corner

Venus:
+ good reach on chain attacks
+ good dp
+ multiple fbs etc. see above.

- chains are fairly laggy
- air to air is meh
- painfully slow movement

Uranus:
+ has an infinite (!!!)
+ has a forward dash

- fb game is kinda poor
- infinite is hard to set up, a lot of gc baiting etc is needed to land a clean hit
- forward dash can be reacted to. blindly charging at your opponent will get you killed.

Pluto:
+ her super ranks among the best in the game. safe on block, can be canceled into, can be used as a ghetto forward dash... it has many useful applications.

- lp fb does not go fullscreen, hp fb only covers the space in front of her. don't expect to win fb wars too often.
- laggy normals
- only really becomes a threat at low hp

Chibi-Moon:
+ useful super (good chip dmg, covers the battlefield, once she gets started its almost impossible to move forward against her)
+ dives/instant overhead give her a decent mixup game
+ uhhh... she's moe? :3

- laughable range/speed on normals
- terrible fb, you wont win fb wars. ever.

http://db.tt/lvd4OOdj

I made a spreadsheet with my translation of the matcbup chart from japan.

Jupiter is godtier
Neptune mars mercury and moon are high

Jupiter just has all the tools in the game and back turn light lariat combos do 100% off of any crossup you land.

Neptune has the best DP, and her super dp will do 70% life on counterhit, making it the best and most reliable big punish in the game.

Mars has sickingly good fireball lockdown and can confirm into her HK flipkick off anything for good knockdown and oki.

Mercury has the best LK and decent fireball and reversal options

Moon is the most mobile character and gets some pretty sick keepaway and mixups off doing air hearts during her dashes.

Venus has chain into up fireball lockdown, the up fireballs are insanely good and give you sickening plus frames on hit and block. You can link multiple of them in a combo and do her desperation move after one if you input it fast enough, giving venus access to the most reliable 100% DM combos. Also venus love me chain is a decent reversal tool. J7.HP is a pretty sick instant overhead. And up fireball into walkup throw/love me chain is sick.

Pluto is worthless without her DM, it recovers superfast on whiff giving her forward dash capabilities, and DM whiff cancel combos which can actually do some sick damage if you have the execution. DM whiff leads into sick pressure and mixups too, but you need to lose 50% of your life for pluto to start being a real character, making her have a lot of uphill battles.

The reason Uranus is lowtier despite her godlike training mode status is that her DC lockdown gets blownup by GCs, her fireball sucks ass, her forward dash has a super long duration and isn't invincible, and her normals aren't all that. You can shutdown her forward dash BS with a wellplaced fireball or LK and keep her out all day. But if she gets in she can infinite you so her matchups are all sorts of wonky. Bitch can't do shit versus fireballs that travel over uranus world shaking.

Don't play Chibi moon. Well ok, her DM leads to decent fullscreen chip setups, but that is a lot of chip you're going to have to deal in order to win.

I wrote this all out on my phone so it probably looks like shit, but there you go, my knowledge on the tiers from memory.

If a thread like this exists already please point me to it - a forum search yielded nothing.

Thread is mainly to discuss shows that probably aren't popular enough to have their own thread - at least right now.

Ground Rules
  • Keep spoilers to a minimum - try to be considerate, this is general discussion. No spoilers for future episodes though.
  • If a show already has it's own thread, talk about it there (Dexter, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, etc)
  • If a show is taking up too much of the thread, create a thread just for that show.

Introduction Post

I admit I haven't have experience with Korean arcade parts, but I start a loose guide listing of what I do know and let people discus about Korean parts and maybe we can build up a half descent database.
I will reference the old THE ULTIMATE KOREAN ARCADE PART FAQ!! to flesh thing thread out.
What was noticed in the Tech Talk community is that many of the old Korean arcade part threads are dead and many threads have broken images, broken links, out of date and inactive.

Special thanks to (but not limited to) the following forum members (in no particular order) who ether helped me directly or those who contributed to older threads (even indirectly) which I tried to use to build this one.

OS(Option select) -
An option select is a term we use in fighting games for a given scenario where we can purposely manipulate the outcome of something with certain techniques. So as an example of this that relates to Ken is his st.hp(CC) V-Skill OS, you simply delay your V-Skill input by a couple of frames and if the attack is blocked the run does not come out, if the attack is a NORMAL hit(No CC) the run will still not come out, but if you land a CC and delay your V-Skill input the run will then activate, this is due to the inherent slow down the game has when landing a CC - increasing the duration of the opponent's "hit-freeze" thus extending the amount of time you have to cancel out of the st.hp.

Oki(Knockdown pressure/mix-ups) -
Oki is a Japanese word, I don't know it's meaning perfectly but oki put simply is knockdown pressure and mix-up, so after knocking an opponent down it is important to know your oki options to attack and outwit your opponent.

Section 1 - Combo List

Ken's Combo Ability
Ken's combo ability in SFV is pretty straight forward, you have your basic hit confirm buttons that allow you to continue the pressure on block - cr.mp, cr.lk x cr.lp, TC1 and TC2. You also have st.hp that extends into run combos for whiff punishing, shimmying or frame trapping. Ken hits like a truck when you catch the opponent with a beefy combo, most of your options are 200+ damage and a good amount of stun.

To quickly go into detail about Ken's ender options your highest damage and stun combo ender without expending meter is h.tatsu which also leaves Ken within point blank range to continue his pressure. H.shoryuken is used for scenarios where h.tatsu will either whiff or simply doesn't connect with the normal you're confirming with but offers slightly less stun output but the same damage numbers. M.tatsu is unique for what it does, you sacrifice initial damage but gain access to certain oki options from the knockdown, there will be videos in the archive that show off his oki options from m.tatsu enders, so don't worry about not knowing them yet.

Ken's Crush Counter Game
Crush Counter buttons - st.hp/st.hk/cr.hp

In my opinion, this is one area that Ken heavily excels in. You won't find a character with better Crush Counter conversion ability in the initial roster. The only downside to this is that his CC options are slow, you can't set up frame trap scenarios that will allow you to create tight gaps between his st.hp(9f) and st.hk(13f), his cr.hp is 6f start-up, but is heavily negative on block and has few options when landed as a CC making this a bad button to try to fish with. So what does this mean for Ken? It means we need to use our brains a little, and make educated guesses of when the opponent is going to try something by using a certain technique; the shimmy. What is a shimmy? Well to put it simply it's just the act of walking in and out of your throw range and threatening a button or a throw, making them whiff a tech attempt or their buttons. This technique forces your opponent into making mistakes that can cost them a LOT of life when playing against Ken.

**VITAL INFORMATION ABOUT CRUSH COUNTER CONFIRMING**
So you may be asking - committing to the run is unsafe, why is this so good if it takes inhuman ability to confirm? Well we have an option select for this problem, it's a super simple one to ice the cake. Simply delay your v-skill input JUST enough so that it misses the cancel frames of a blocked/regular hit st.hp/st.hk, this will make you do nothing on block. However if you land a Crush Counter? The game has a short amount of extended "hit freeze"(Go check it out, land a CC st.hp and watch Ryu freeze for around a quarter of a second) and your delayed v-skill input will now register in the now slightly later than usual cancel frames - perfect!

Moveset Info/Speculation

Normal Moves:
Will be added to in the future. In the meantime, here's a summary.

Light attacks so far have not been seen to lead into any combos. No cancels, or links outside of counterhit, have been found in videos. Presumably, they will only be useful to push the opponent away on defense, or to set up tick throws or other mixup.

Known cancelable normals: s.MP, s.HP, cr.MP, cr.MK, cr.HP.
Anti-airs: s.HP, cr.HP.
Crush counter: s.HK.
Command normal: f+MK (overhead.)

Known links: s.MP > cr.MP, cr.MP > cr.MK, s.HP xx V-trigger > s.HP.
Special Moves:
QCF+K - Sappo. Command dash that either be used for mixup afterward or canceled into either of two followups.
  • P - Tenko. Angled upwards strike with one arm, launching the opponent and allowing followups. Using this immediately after Sappo changes the properties of the move in unknown ways.
  • Down+P - Orochi. AKA "shoulder." Karin rams into the opponent with her back turned.

QCB+K - Mujin Kyaku. AKA "upkicks." Current speculation is that this move has automatic followups depending on which kick button you used.
  • LK has no followup and is probably safe on block.
  • MK continues the upkicks into something that resembles Karin's overhead f+MK. It does not fully combo on hit. Properties are unknown, but it may be useful as a frametrap, a high-low mixup, or as part of juggles.
  • HK has a longer continuation that fully combos on hit, and is probably your choice meterless combo ender outside of V-trigger, likely unsafe on block.

QCB+P - Ressen Ha. Arcing rainbow palm that hits overhead and knocks down on hit. Has two potential followups:
  • Down+K - Senha Kusabi. Sliding kick that hits low.
  • Up+K - Hopping grab that works against standing opponents. May be usable to avoid some common punishes/low attacks.

QCF+P - Guren Ken. AKA "rekka." Only available during V-trigger, a chain of variable attacks that can be used as a hitconfirm, or for general pressure or mixup. See below for details.
Guren Ken followups:
It seems like the above movelist card is not thorough in listing all of her possible options at each step during rekka. For the moment I will assume that it's accurate and make the corrections when they've been contradicted by video evidence.

Step 1:
  • QCF+P - Guren Ken. The initial rekka hit. Hits twice.
Step 2:
  • K - Guren Kyoho. Ends the rekka by backdashing to safety, used to bait counterattacks. Drains a lot of V-gauge. (Input is speculation.)
  • P - Guren Hosho. A palm strike that ends the rekka. Can combo into CA.
  • Up+P - Guren Senha. Arcing rainbow palm that hits overhead, and allows a link afterwards.
  • Up+K - Guren Resshu. Hopping grab that works against standing opponents. May be usable to avoid some common punishes/low attacks. (Listed as step 3, but seen in step 2 during videos.)
  • Down+K - Guren Kusabi. Sliding kick that hits low. (Listed as step 3, but seen in step 2 during videos.)
  • Down+P - Guren Chochu. Single elbow strike that continues the rekka. Leads to step 3.
Step 3:
  • Down+P - Guren Hochu. Karin crosses behind the opponent and strikes their back. Hits crossup. (Input is speculated.)
  • Up+K - Guren Resshu. Hopping grab that works against standing opponents. May be usable to avoid some common punishes/low attacks.
  • Down+K - Guren Kusabi. Sliding kick that hits low.

New thread for the new era.

Chapter 598 aka The Beginning of the NEW Era.

Quoted Tizoc's original post for those not in the know (Why are you not in the know? Get to steppin' fools! )
Introduction:
One Piece is the story of Monkey D. Luffy who embarks on a quest to the Grand Line, the most dangerous of all the seas, to find the greatest treasure left by Gold Rogers, the Pirate King who was executed 20 years ago, the One Piece. What the One Piece is, nobody knows, but it is known to hold a great value.

Along the way he gathers the oddest members a pirate crew could ever by made of as they venture through the dangerous waters of East Blue before entering the Grand Line.

The anime is mainly adventure, but has some kickass fights in it as a bonus with a twisted plot revealed rather late in the anime (and the plot thickens GREATLY around the 400th chapter of the manga), so if you're looking for a good anime to watch, this is the one for you.

Now don't let the 'kiddy-ish' art turn you off, as eventually you'll get to love it as it VERY unique.

You can get the latest chapters from Mangastream

You can get the anime from Anime Media - Watch Episodes Online | Watch OnePiece | OnePiece.

You can also get spoiler info from Arlong Park.

I would like to note that there are fillers which you don't need to download/watch as they don't affect the anime's story in ANY WAY. For the time being I would recommend not downloading episodes 54-61 & episodes 131-138, you CAN download them if you want BTW, since they're not as shitty as Naruto's AND Bleach's. :looney::rolleyes:

Can someone update with the list of filler eps after episode 138?
