It's coming for PS4 and PC. Double Dragon is finally thinking outside the box. Just as Street Fighter II onward isn't just about Ryu and Ken (it woulda sucked if the series just stuck with those 2 characters. Just like Art of Fighting 1 sucks with just Ryo and Robert, and Fatal Fury with just the trio.), Double Dragon series can be much more, making everyone playable and expanding its playable selection

Fighting games aren't the only ones that benefit from larger selection of playable characters, beat em ups benefit also and enhances their charisma, replay value and play incentives.

the story mode has to be beaten to unlock Tower, and Tower progression unlocks the extra playable characters,

"finishing all stages unlocks Tower Mode. Play this mode to unlock enemy characters for use in Story Mode."

but it is still great at least there is a means (without cheating) to have a large selection of playable characters for not only vs. but also for the entire story mode as well, practically turning it into a Free mode. Urban Reign making all its npcs and enemies playables and more, sure made it more epic.

"Progress in this mode and you may even unlock a certain fan favorite character!"

it must be Marian. It's the 30th anniversary and she deserves to finally kick ass in an official Double Dragon beat em up.
Willy would be boring, just shoot/rifle smack enemies, lame, no contest. Double Dragon Neon did tease a badass Marian in the climax.
Even though storywise Marian was killed (wasn't she revived in the arcade version afterwards?),
we know there are tons of games an examples where killed characters still become playable characters to choose from.
(even in some fighting games stories)

the lack of online lobbies hurts it a bit (ASW you have some of the greatest netcode talent in the industry!
what are you thinking shortchanging DDIV's online?) well it has Share play, does that mean after the hour session, players group up again and can continue share play?

Perhaps if Double Dragon IV does really well, ASW could use Double Dragon IV features as a foundation and rejuvenate the series as a new ongoing beat em up series. There is controversy about the retro graphics, but hey, at least they aren't chibis (Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds) or some tacked on flash game graphics (Power Rangers).

Overall, more optimistic about DDIV than any Double Dragon before it. ASW's Hard Corps Uprising did surpass Contra III in every category, although if it had Contra III/C:HC retro graphics, it probably be more well liked. but I dunno, I like both the retro and ASW stylized art. Maybe later they might do a new Double Dragon with at least Sailor Moon Arcade tier graphics. and expand to 4 players co-op and stuff. there's lots of things they can do for the series. and in my opinion, what Double Dragon IV is doing is really making Double Dragon series much more interesting.
now all that remains is the overall level design, soundtrack, story content length, challenge, learning curve, and more.

Brook PS3/PS4 "Fightboard" PCB Thread

Hey Everyone,

Brook just announced a new 40mm x 40mm Square PCB called the "Fight Board". Myself and few SRK tech talk members had some early access to the board and have been testing it for the past few weeks. With the help of our feedback they are ready for retail production and will be available through Brook's retail channels worldwide later this month (November 2015) at around $40 (US).

*One thing to note is that It requires soldering to access the inputs and does not come with screw terminals. So break out those irons...

As far as initial performance goes myself and @wazwuz have found the board to perform slightly faster or atleast equal to a FC4 pad hacked board. We will be testing further and with more detail when the retail firmware is available.

Brook via @gogo.zippy will be closely monitoring this thread throughout its initial release and as always will be available for questions and feedback.

Welp since d3v said it was okay to make threads regarding DLC characters i am making this one for juri.

In SF 4 juri is amazingly fun to use IMO. Interested to see how she will change in SF 5, haven't gotten to play it myself yet but definitely plan to get it once urien and juri are out. What are your thoughts so far?

I've had SF2THDR since release day. I don't know why, but it seems like its been losing steam over the years. You only see side tournaments at EVO if that and online is all but dead. What's going on?

Tokyotosho is a good place to start with. It has a really simple search engine and covers almost all of the torrent releases when it comes to both anime and manga, be it subtitled or without.

You may want to get a Bittorrent client such as Utorrent to download any of the files there.

No problem, sir. You've got streaming sites such as Goodanime.net or Anilinkz.com that could help you out on that.

How about manga?

You've told me where to get the anime and manga, but what shows should I watch or read?!

This all depends on the genre you're interested in. Obviously, a lot of shows tend to combine a number of them, but in general, these shows are usually enjoyed by the anime populace, so do give them a try.

This list will probably not cover everything, but mostly the major (and some minor ones). If there's anything major missing, do tell.

Many of these shows and manga are already licensed outside of Japan, so if you want to support them, buy their DVDs or books from you local or online retailer whenever you have the chance!

Some series may have a few other genres it can be defined into; and for these, you'll find 'em in brackets close to the title.

The Official TE2, TE2+, TES+ EZ MOD Thread

Hi everyone! I wanted to take a minute to create this thread so everyone can ask questions, get help, etc. from one location with the TE2 EZ MOD.

What is the TE2 and TE2+ EZ MOD?

The TE2/TE2+ EZ MOD allows easy installation of the Brook Universal Fighting Board in all Madcatz TE2 sticks (and NOW TE2+ STICKS). If you are not familiar with the Brook UFB, check the link out. It's a PCB (or brain if you will) that allows your Fight/Arcade Stick to work with the following consoles: PS3/PS4/XBOX 360/XBOX ONE/Wii U (Pokken) and of course PC. It was released earlier this year and is a very welcomed addition to the community.

Why install it?
It mods your single stick into a multi platform beast quick and easy. Perfect for traveling around to tourneys, local events, etc. It works with all variants of the TE2 and, in my opinion, can't be installed improperly. It requires one minor modification to the stock wiring of the stick, removing the soldered on USB connector wires. They can be clipped right at the board easily. It fits in the stock location for the TE2/TE2+ so it looks clean when installed and keeps the Brook UFB swappable to other sticks as well because the connectors are common and top mounted.

What's included in the kit?
The TE2 and TE2+ EZ MOD Board is included with all necessary cables and connectors that require soldering to the Brook UFB. Can't solder? Don't worry! The shops carrying the TE2 EZ MOD will have Brook UFB pre-soldered for painless and solder-free install upon arrival.

Where to buy it?
You can get the TE2 EZ MOD from the following retailers later this month (June 2016) as the production run is being finalized now. Yes, each board is professionally manufactured and assembled.

FAQs (TE2 EZ MOD)
  • Price? - I am leaving this up to the Vendors, however, I expect about $30 for the kit with some special combo deals from time to time when purchased with the Brook UFB.
  • Will this work with the LVT3? - Yes. It should work fine. The Power Connector "U$8" aka "TO LVT3 or LED BOARD provides the necessary power to the stock MCZ LED board and the LVT3 board.
  • What are the jumpers in the kit used for? - You connect them to pins on JP4 (RIGHT BUTTON on the AUX Panel) and JP5 (LEFT BUTTON on the Aux Panel). These let you set those buttons to either L3, R3, TP Click, or Turbo.
  • What does JP6 do? - This is a programming header. Do not connect anything to this. It is not used by the end user.
  • Can you use this to connect a PS360+ ? - Absolutely. In this case you will only need to connect the 4P USB interconnect and the 20P ribbon cable between the two boards.
  • Can I use a Kaimana Khameleon with this setup? - Absolutely! The only modification you will need to make is making your own mini-USB to Molex 4 pin connector cable. Simply cut the non-mini end off of the cable and connect the wire ends to a molex 4P KK housing. Here's a link. Don't forget the pins!
  • What do the LEDs on the Aux panel end up doing? - On sticks that have it, the LOCK button indicates Turbo Function. Solid = Turbo activated, Blinking = Turbo in effect for the button you are pressing. The Player LEDs work as expected lighting up for what player you are on the system. The remaining don't do anything. The one fun part is on XBONE variants all LEDs do a Knight Rider chase on power up. How fun!
  • Do you have other EZ MODs? - Yes! The PS4 version of the Hori VLX has an EZ MOD available as well.And a TE2+ EZ MOD is being produced now. I have no immediate plans for TE+S EZ MODS due to military commitments and relatively low sales of that stick.
  • My MCZ LED Board doesn't light up! - Don't worry, we can fix it. It's not clean but it will work until you can update to an LVT3 LED controller. On the 3 pin LED Board Connector, connect the middle pin and the pin closest to the start/select header. You can clip the wires and then solder/splice them together or even bridge the pins on the EZMOD board underneath. The LEDs should fire right up. Thanks @Megahurtz for being the guinea pig on this work around ;)

FAQs (TE2+ EZ MOD)
  • Price? - TBD, but I hope to keep it between $35 and $40. I didn't make as many of these so volume pricing won't be as good.
  • Who sells it? Just me at EVO 2016 right now. If its popular and the TE2 EZ MOD does well, I suspect other shops will want to carry it as well.
  • Do I have to use Jumpers? Nope. Not on this one. The TE2+ had all the right buttons this time!
  • Does the UNLOCK/LOCK button work? Yes, as TURBO. To keep the board low cost and minimize the number of processors and programs to deal with I chose to NOT make that function work in lieu of using the Turbo Function.
  • Does the Touch Pad work? Yes and No. It is setup to work once Brook implements the Touch Pad connections into the UFB Firmware. The TP click does work.
  • Will this work with the LVT3? - Yes. It should work fine. The Power Connector "U$8" aka "TO LVT3 or LED BOARD provides the necessary power to the stock MCZ LED board and the LVT3 board.
  • What does JP6 do? - This is a programming header. Do not connect anything to this. It is not used by the end user.
  • Can you use this to connect a PS360+ ? - Absolutely. In this case you will only need to connect the 4P USB interconnect and the 20P ribbon cable between the two boards.
  • Why are there LEDs on the board? What do they do? Two indicate the two voltages on the board, VBUS and VCC. If they are lit, power is working properly. The final LED is a "heartbeat" this indicates that the processor is working. If it's blinking, the EZ MOD is working

Also, the Knight Rider woosh goes on startup and the Player LEDs cycle their colors to show everything is working. Finally in XBONE mode, all 4 LEDs are on and glow WHITE.
  • Do you have other EZ MODs? - Yes! The PS4 version of the Hori VLX has an EZ MOD available as well and the TE2 EZ MOD.

Bug Fixes and Applicability

** IF YOU HAVE A TE2 EZ MOD WITH AN XBOX 360 TE2 ONLY. EZ MOD SHIPPED AFTER 7/1/16: Player 4 LED is always lit due to a software bug we found and fixed compliments of @Feargus001100 (thanks Copy and Paste)! If you received your EZ MOD from ArcadeShock or ParadiseArcadeShop and find that the Player 4 LED on your XBOX 360 Version TE2 is always ON please contact me for a fix!

LVT3 USERS

Some of the LVT3s designed for the MCZ TE2 are not compatible with the EZ MOD. Specifically, the XBONE version. The others ARE compatible but may not work right out of the box with the TE2+ and TE2 but may require a cable fix that connects the LVT3 to the EZ MOD. Basically, if your buttons don't work after install, you need to tweak the included LVT3 cable. What is happening is the button signal connections from the LVT3 are being connected directly to the GND plane and the GND plane of the LVT3 are being connected directly to the button signals. Clearly, nothing will work this way. Here's how the connector on the EZ MOD is setup:

Our agile Delta Red agent returns, looking as sharp as ever. Capcom reps told me she’s one of the “most requested” characters, so if you were among the crowd clamoring for Cammy, congrats, the developers have heard your cries! Perhaps the most noticeable change to her arsenal is that a key input has been simplified, which we’ll get to shortly.
Current Movelist

V-Skill: Axel Spin Knuckle (MP + MK)

Similar in style to Zangief’s Banishing Flat, this allows Cammy to dodge through a projectile with an attack that resembles Guile’s Spin Back Knuckle. While it doesn’t neutralize the projectile like the good ol’ green hand does, it’s a very nice addition to her repertoire.

V-Trigger: Delta Drive (HP + HK)

Cammy’s V-Trigger benefits aren’t as immediately visible as other characters: you might just think her speed increases. But many of her moves gain more subtle advantages during the time the gauge is ticking down, including increased recovery speed and being able to pass through the opponent.

V-Reversal: Strike Back (towards+KKK)

Special Moves

Spiral Arrow (QCF+K)
Cannon Spike (DP+K)
Cannon Strike (during forward jump, QCB+K)

Not much new to report here. However…

Hooligan Combination (HCF+P)

Yeah, remember how this started and ended at a weird diagonal in previous games? No more–it’s the half-circle motion we all know and love. As for the inputs afterwards…

Fatal Leg Twister (close to ground, LP+LK)
Cross Scissors Pressure (close, in air LP+LK)
Cannon Strike (K)
