Vanilla had had a security hole unfixed since SRK moved to Vanilla. Accounts abandoned before a previous board switch (such as the dead Soy Sauce account) got taken over by the "Unknown" placeholder account since those abandoned accounts no longer existed. The hole is that bots could log in as "Unknown" and edit these abandoned posts to be spam posts.

Last night, SRK was updated and this hole got fixed. All compromised posts apparently were deleted. All non-compromised posts are now written by "System".

Unfortunately, Mandel's Soy Sauce post to start the "Get to know a negro BETTER!" thread in August 2003 was one of the affected posts (and had previously been compromised by a bot last week before I restored it). Since it was marked as compromised, it got deleted in last night's board upgrade... and the entire thread is now evidently unrecoverably gone.

I really like the English voice acting. I'm glad to see it isn't an afterthought to Capcom. They seem to be done around the same timeframe so it isn't really a "dub".

This thread will focus any bugs or Glitches you may find in the beta version of the game. Also any feedback on what the development team can do to improve on when the final version is released. Also it would be helpful if Capcom can do a questionnaire similar to Square-Enix has done for Final Fantasy XV demo. I called it unofficial because this thread is not made by the developers or the moderators of Capcom. You can post any updates or news related to the beta.


P.S. This is for all versions (PS4 & PC) of the game so post with the platform you are playing on with a detailed description, video, & pic describing the issue (No matter how small or minor it's OK!). This also includes any special event showcasing the beta like EVO or Six Flags for example.


For PC players:

List your system specs (OS, GPU model, CPU model, RAM, etc)
And your graphics settings (assuming that SFV will have them)

I'm as surprised as anybody else is with Street Fighter V being leaked, and there's something I've been wanting to discuss about it's in-game mechanics.

What improvements would everybody like to see in SFV, and what new mechanic would everybody like to see? Be it the parry/focus system or something entirely new.

I have a little checklist of "Things I would like Capcom to improve in SFV" and I'm wondering if anybody has similar thoughts about it. I'd also personally love if the parry system or something similar returned, but I don't think they'll ever return to it if I'm completely honest.

Is there a Dragon Ball Z thread? If not...

CHAAAAAAAAANGE NOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!

Just copped Season 2 of DBZ. I missed a lot of this show when it was on (I watched the hell out of the "Next Dimension"/"OVER 9000!!!!" dub back in 95, but I really didn't see much past the whole Ginyu/Goku switch), and actually now I'm glad I didn't.

I LOVE the option to watch the dub with the OG Japanese BGM. (Call me weird, but trying to listen to the Japanese track throws me off a little. I usually watch anime with the dub track on, but with subtitles to see what they're REALLY supposed to be saying. I can't explain why, but that's just my preference.)

Anyway, I find it astounding that the simple act of changing the original background music makes DBZ a different show. Instead of a "I'm trying really, REALLY hard to be bad-ass" feel to the show, the show actually gains a lot of heart and feeling.

Anyway, Season 2 ends where I left off: Ginyu is a frog and Kuririn & Gohan are in Saiyan armor.

I only wish that FUNimation would give us the Ocean Group Dub that the UK got. I don't care about recycled (Super Fighitng Robot) Megaman BGMs or censorship, I just want to hear Brian Drummond as Vegeta, Scott McNeil as Piccolo & Terry Klassen as Kuririn again.

I won't make too many assumptions, but it looks like a budget stick. (EDIT- It is)
I believe we need more budget sticks on the market to get more new fighting game players familiar with using arcade sticks at a reasonable cost.

The base looks a bit thin by the photo, so I'm unsure if a JLF shaft would clear that. (EDIT- Likely will be high enough to swap joysticks, mentioned mod friendly by MarkMan on Twitter)

May not be Sanwa parts to keep costs low.

It's cooler (6 button) instead of dick (8 button) which is BADASS (This sentence is an SRK Tech Talk inside joke. Don't take it personally)

This is a clean, organized venue
Hype is welcome, even shouting vulgar obscenities is ok but use you're own discretion.
It's a public business so be mindful of children whom may be in the room.

Food, drinks and other snacks are readily available for purchase within the store.
Be clean; we're adults guys, lets clean up after ourselves.


so please stay within the venue if you're in the tournament.
Don't wander off and not be present when you're name is called
I won't DQ but You'll hold up the tournament and you'll piss me off and that's bad.

Obviously, no alcohol or illegal substances allowed within the vicinity.
Trash talking is allowed but keep it fun.

Casual matches are allowed during before and after the tournament.
If set ups aren't being used - go for it
If we wrap up and we still have time to play more - go for it
You may come to the store when it opens (10AM), pay your 10$ entree fee and play all day.


And this above all, have a good time people.
The whole point in throwing these tournaments is to give people a place to practice, get better and enjoy themselves.
I've been playing alot less since evo and so I spend my fighting game energy hosting and organizing these gatherings for you guys.
I do this for you guys, I do this for the Socal Scene, I do this for Street Fighter and KOF, so let's make this the next hot spot for Socal players.

I have some old joystick cases made by Red Octane that I don't want/need anymore. You can pick up in person if you live in the Dallas/Fortworth area or if you provide me with a pre-paid shipping label I'll drop them off at the post office. Everything comes as seen in the pictures. Some of the buttons are missing the cherry micro-switches I can't seem to find them, but hey I'm giving them out for free so try not to complain to much. The joysticks are Sanwa JLW sticks. The one with the red ball top handle is modded with a longer handle from Ultimarc and an octagonal restrictor plate. The one with the bat top just has a nut put on to make it a little longer and comes with the standard square restrictor plate. Those are what I would recommend for the black cases unless you want to do some extra modding to the case. The silver ones will hold standard happ joysticks.

Six Button Notation

LP: Light Punch/Jab
MP: Medium Punch/Strong

Joystick Notation
F - Forward - Tilt stick forward/towards the opponent. (X-axis)
B - Backward/Back - Tilt stick backward/away from the opponent. (X-axis)
U - Up - Tilt stick upwards. (Y-axis)
D - Down - Tilt stick downwards. (Y-axis)
QCF - Quarter circle forward/Hadouken/Fireball - Tilt stick downwards, then to downwards and forward, then forward.
QCB - Quarter circle backward - Tilt stick downwards, then to downwards and backward, then backward.
HCF - Half circle forward - Tilt stick backwards, then to downwards and backward, then to downward, then to downwards and forward, then forward.

Connectors

+: Used between two other pieces of notation to signify that they should be performed at the same time
> (Sometimes -> or ,): Indicates the next part of a sequence
xx (Sometimes x): Used between two other pieces of notation to signify that the first should be cancelled (Interrupted earlier than it would finish otherwise) into the second
~: Indicates that the preceding action should link (immediately follow with) into the next action
/: Used to show when two or more options are available at that point in a sequence, invariably to show that they both produce similar if not identical results

EX: EX moves are given special properties requiring one bar of super meter.

A screenshot suggests the first title in the expected series will run on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Bungie's most recent releases had only run on Xbox systems.
A decision to build another sci-fi franchise will see Destiny compete with the developer's original series.

Microsoft has said it has plans for at least another two Halo games. Its most recent sequel, Halo 4, was created by its own subsidiary 343 Industries. The series as a whole has generated more than $3.4bn (£2.1bn) in revenues to date.

"You can never have sure bets and the risks involved with creating new IP [intellectual property] are always relatively high, but to have a studio like Bungie involved reduces the risk considerably for Activision due to its incredible track record," Pier Harding-Rolls, head of games research at IHS Screen Digest, told the BBC.

But he added that the publisher was unlikely to be happy about the way news of its game had become available.

"I don't think any company that wants to manage and control the promotion of their material would want to see it leaked through the back door," he said. "But a lot of leaks do go on in the industry.
"I'm sure we'll see a lot more of it at E3 [games conference] in June where games like this can be shown in a satisfying way."

I can't remember the last time a videogame "leak" was front page news for the BBC that wasn't to do with some large scale hack or theft. Anyhoo, I'm glad the game hadn' turned into vapourware
