My only real requirement is that the player actually consistently uses the character in USF4, not someone who mained the character in an earlier version of the game. Hey there, guys. Long time lurker, but first time...poster? Iunno, that sounds like an AA introduction or something.

In any case, I've been drawing for quite a while. Quite a quite a while--and fighting game stuff for even longer. So, I guess I'll just dump a bunch of my brush pen stuff here in spurts.

These are from earlier in the year I did on stream. My color palette at the time was a tad limited (black, dark gray, light blue, dark blue, red and yellow)









Then I gained a red-orange companion.








Having fallen in love with the elaborate brush pen works of acclaimed animator, Junichi Hayama, I've been surely but steadily trying my hand at it as well. Only, you know, he's like 2000x better than me in every facet and I'm willing to come to terms with that, lol. In any case, I hope you all enjoy the first batch.

Currently am trying to mod a Q4 to work with ps4 but am wondering about methods, thus far i have found this (http://www.diyandretry.com/?p=143) and believe this would be the go to option to do it. but I would like to ask anyone with experience in this if it's possible to use the official ps4 controller to hard mod with and what processes would have to be done to make it work?

Hi guys!
do you have heard anything about the Venom PS4 arcade stick? I take a look at the description and photos(since it´s the only thing we got) and it looks like the mayflash V2, the case looks the same used on the mayflash v2.
Since the descrition says it has premium quality parts (I dont know what they call premium quality parts) I assume it comes with sanwa or seimitsu parts. The color of the buttons and balltop looks navy, so maybe it has the PS-15 navy(I dont believe but it´s the only quality buttons I know with that color). The price is 75€($86), a nice chance to get a PS4 stick. It looks nice btw, here is some photos:

New options for adding XBox One to an arcade stick have emerged this month. There are 3 new xb1 third party controllers that were released this month. Two are made by PowerA: Xbox1 Spectra ($50) and Xbo1 mini ($40). One is made by PDP: Xbox1 Rockcandy ($40)
[update 2/3/2015] Added Horipad for xb1 to the list.

I will separate the info of each controller into the next three posts. I'll leave the first post as a summery and info for the trigger inversion.




Rockcandy Pros
-Cheapest pad other than the mini.
- Comes with long white micro usb cable that has a breakaway end.
- Comes with 3 day Xbox Live Gold
- Comes with $10 PDP reward card...what that means IDK yet.
- Has an onboard micro usb jack.
Rockcandy Cons
- Triggers need inverting
- Size is in between the other two
- Much like the MS pad it has two pcbs that connect together. Better to remove the top pcb as you'll want to solder to the TP on the bottom.

Mini Pros
- Cheapest pad other than the rockcandy.
- Contact spots are easily read on front. Has alt TP on back, but labels aren't obvious
- Smallest pcb
- Can get cool colored usb cables
Mini Cons
- Triggers need inverting

Spectra Pros
- Can be hacked to also add led effects to clear buttons. Not as advanced as using a separate led controller board, but its better then nothing.
- Contact spots are labeled on front and for alt TP on the back
- Dpad pcb can be easily removed.
Spectra Cons
- Retail price is more expensive than the other two pads.
- Both sets of triggers and shoulder buttons need to be inverted. Not really that big an issue if using hex inverters though.
- Largest size pcb out of the three.

Horipad Pros
- No trigger inverting.
- Easy solder points.
- Pricing matches others.
- Has IR leds.
Horipad Cons
- Shape is kind of weird?
- Most likely have to order online.

The winner is the Horipad if you can get a hold of one as not having to do a trigger inverting is going to be more useful for most people. Otherwise its a toss up between the mini and rockcandy. Pretty much the rockcandy has a better deal if you buy it new as you get the extra lil freebies plus the onboard micro usb jack is nice too. The mini might be easier for people to solder to though.



Trigger inversion:
Since the triggers on all three pads are active high we will need to add a hex inverter to make them active low. We can reuse the same method that was used on the madcatz 360 pads that also had active high triggers. Note that in Toodle's schematic he used the A/Y pair 1 and 2. I will be using pair 1 and 6 to make wire routing easier.


I'm using the 74HCT04N chip. Pins are labeled.

I'll be using the dead-bug setup. Since its on its back all the pins will be flipped. It is important to remember this.

Here is an example of the 10k ohm resistors soldered to the pins.

Her is an example of 10k ohm SMD resistors soldered instead.

Example of how it would be wired up to a Rockcandy pad. 1A would be wired to the sticks RT button and 6A would be wired to the sticks LT button.

Street Fighter had never implemented an "instinct mode", outside of supermoves for characters like Yun/Yang or Rose, and the V-Ism from the Alpha series.

So, V-Trigger looks perhaps a little too radical as a new mechanics for the series, and also a little disjointed, as characters like Nash will have a completely different use for the gauge.

My main concern about this is new characters native to Street Fighter V, if they're built around the use of V-Trigger as an important factor for their gameplay (and we can be pretty sure it's gonna be that way), how are they going to adapt them later if they drop the V-Trigger then?

Take Nash for example, again. His teleports are for sure powerful moves, so much they demand to expend some gauge, then could they rework them into another, not as powerful form, if the V-Trigger mechanics is gone? Are hey going to make them EX-exclusive moves, or what?

As for adapting returning characters, they'd be for sure looking forward to adapt some their stuff into V-Trigger... Urien, for example, maybe it takes half V-Gauge to create a reflecting mirror or something. And as it looks like V-Gauge is built when you RECEIVE damage, so you would have to be in low health to use Urien's mirrors... and that pretty much would change a lot the way he would play.

I'm using him just as an example, I'm just saying the idea of the V-Gauge seems pretty intrusive when you have an already very firm and established basic mechanics and cast of characters, with solid gameplay. Are you a little nervous about V-Trigger?

I can't remember the last time a videogame "leak" was front page news for the BBC that wasn't to do with some large scale hack or theft. Anyhoo, I'm glad the game hadn' turned into vapourware

I think Alpha 3 had it right with little details that made the game a lot better than it would be. Some of them off the top of my head are:

-Chip finishes. The opponent would be pushed away a few inches from you with the impact of the last hit and you would get the "Cheap!!" remark.

-Different background effects based on the level of the Super you used to finish the round. I think Capcom needs to add a special effect to when you finish someone off when you're in V-Trigger mode. Who's to say V-Trigger finishes are any less anti-climactic than Critical Art finishes?

-Special intro/outros. Adds a lot to the depth of the relationship between the characters. And I'm sure (in light of the result of the poll I made a few months back) most everyone loves some interaction between their favorite characters.

-And everyone's favroite: Post-KO hits! I know Capcom decided to remove it because it messed with the match data being sent to the servers back in the days of Vanilla, but this is an entirely new game and they are building the netcode from the ground up, so they could find a workaround for that.

What else do you think could be polished up before the game is released that won't affect the gameplay?
